What does Jesus mean when he says he comes to bring “not peace but a sword” (Matt 10:34)? Trusting Christ for hope and life means not trusting money, powerful people, pleasurable addictions, or other idols valued by family, friends, and neighbors—which will mean division. Like a “sword,” Christ separates us from our idols—and gives us true life and peace.

• Donate reusable water bottles to our neighbors in Heat Respite. Staying hydrated is important as the temperatures rise. Help our neighbors by donating reusable water bottles they can use to drink more water.
