The angel says, “Do not be afraid,” because the women were petrified that they also would be like the guards, “like dead men.” We likewise are afraid of what we don’t understand, of being obliterated, and of our lives meaning nothing. The Holy Spirit gives us, like the women, peace to trust God as we face death and resurrection in Christ!
